We are committed to the development of our seastaff and ensuring our ships are manned by the very best in the industry

This requires significant investment, as evidenced by our state-of-the-art navigation and cargo operations simulator training centre based in Glasgow, the centre for Seapeak’s global gas operations.

Seapeak Training Centre of Excellence

Opened in 2015, the Seapeak Training Centre serves hundreds of Seapeak Officers every year. A constant hive of activity, our Training Centre Team offer intensive courses in: ship handling; collision regulations; cargo resource management; liquid cargo handling; bridge teamwork and command assessment, amongst others.

What’s more, our Training Centre has been endorsed by industry, as Secretariat of SIGTTO commented:

“With a huge increase in the global gas fleet … there is a critical need to invest in training and training facilities. It is to Seapeak Glasgow’s great credit that they have done exactly this with this impressive facility. It is a great example to the rest of the industry in how to responsibly address this issue.”

During a visit to the Training Centre, Commodore Davy Rolle of the Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA) said:

“It is a great pleasure to visit the global headquarters of Sepaeak’s LNG fleet operations in Glasgow ... The BMA has always placed great emphasis on safety at sea for which excellent training is the key. I therefore welcome these new state-of- the-art facilities which will undoubtedly put Seapeak at the forefront of the LNG industry.”
